Explore Bodhi's musical journey, collaborations and recordings
Born in Indonesia and raised in a multicultural family with Czech and Dutch roots, Bodhi Sykora developed a lifelong fascination for music, languages and different cultures. She inherited her passion for music from her grandfather, a professional cellist, and music became a natural part of her life from an early age.
After graduating in Social Pedagogy at Utrecht University, she followed her passion for music and studied Jazz Vocals at the Conservatory. Since then, she has built a versatile career as a singer, performing in a wide variety of ensembles and musical projects, ranging from jazz and blues to rock & roll and Brazilian music.
Today, Bodhi continues to perform with Carinhoso, celebrating the rich traditions of Música Popular Brasileira, while combining her performing career with over three decades of teaching at the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.

With Carinhoso, Bodhi performs an intimate repertoire of bossa nova, samba-canção and Brazilian classics,
celebrating the rich melodies and rhythms of Brazil.
Shooting Star
A close-harmony vocal trio performing original compositions alongside jazz, blues, latin and
soul.
Inspired by legendary vocal groups such as Lambert, Hendricks & Ross and the early Pointer Sisters, Shooting Star developed a unique sound through years of performing together.
The Lost Wandering Jazz & Blues Band
Bodhi toured extensively throughout Europe with this New York-based jazz and blues band, performing a lively repertoire rooted in the traditions of American jazz and blues.
Pink Pettycoat
A dynamic rock & roll formation that brought the energy and spirit of classic rock & roll to the stage.
Dutch Palladium Orchestra
A renowned Dutch jazz orchestra, winner of both the Jury Prize and the Audience Prize at the Breda Jazz Festival, with performances throughout the Netherlands, Germany and France.
